Patriarch of Fontenmere Abbey? and senior cleric of Whispervale. Menote is an old friend of the late King Halfred and a supporter of Prince Edmund.
He was murdered in cold blood by an assassin sent by Lord Edrin?. When the Order of the Dragonmarks visited Fontenmere Abbey?, the spirit of Menote appeared and spoke to a few of them saying,
''I am the spirit of William Menore, once patriarch of Fontenmere and now murdered. Know you, mortals, that I appear before you because I cannot rest. An outrage had been committed here, a desecration beyond all enduring. Forces of darkness have stolen the royal seal and sceptre of Whispervale. These things must be returned. They must be brought back! Without them, there can be no coronation and no king in Whispervale. Without our king, there can be no peace, neither for the living of Whispervale nor for the dead of Fontenmere!"
This sent them on another quest to find the murderer and return the royal seal and the sceptre.
